Overview
Internet-scale applications mean anyone around the world can use your application. You need to build your application so that it can serve your users globally. Data privacy laws, such as GDPR, often have requirements for data sovereignty that will impact your ability to operationalize the data across regions and countries.
The solution requires multi-region scalability and resilience to ensure your application is responsive and always available to your users. In addition, you need to be able to “firewall” the data from each region. This would restrict access to data that is subject to data sovereignty / residency.
